Maryland General Assembly Internship Program

Information is now available on the website for Maryland General Assembly’s 2026 Legislative Intern Program for college students (MGA Legislative Intern Program). These are paid internships with legislative offices during session (dates of internship are January 13 – April 17). The application process opens September 9^th and closes October 15, 2025. I (Dr. A) highly recommend this program to MSL students!

The Political Science department offers academic credit during the spring semesters for students participating in approved internships. Dr. Mileah Kromer (mkromer@umbc.edu) currently coordinates the internship program and teaches the associated class, and is the professor you should contact with a request for sponsorship if you want to gain academic credit through that class, POLI 448. The class is open to students of any major.
